Lauren Graham was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Donna Grant and Lawrence Graham who was a lobbyist for the candy industry. Lauren's father comes from New York, her mother from her native American South. She has Irish, English and Scottish heritage. She grew up living in Northern Virginia, USA (Fairfax, Arlington, and Great Falls, VA) Graduate of Langley High School, McLean, VA Graduating from Barnard College with a Bachelor's Degree in English. She graduated from Southern Methodist University with a Master's degree in acting. Her sole source of support was her father. She was just 5 years old when her parents separated. As a young girl she wanted to be the jockey. But her height and size prevented it. When she was a kid traveling extensively, she was with her father and found acting in primary school.
